Sacramento Train Depot on Vintage Film Photos

I was on my way back from a roadtrip when I passed through Sacramento. I noticed the old rail yard and couldn't help but noticed it looked abandoned. I had a roll of film ready to go in my Brownie Hawkeye Flash. The camera has a light leak and some of the photo's are hard to view.

Gatsby Summer Afternoon Picnic on Vintage Film

I had the pleasure of attending the Annual Gatsby Summer Afternoon Picnic hosted by the Art Deco Society. The event was at Dunsmuir Mansion in Oakland. It was an awesome event with vintage clothing, cars and personalitys. I used my 1930s  Kodak Six-20 camera in these photographs.

Eureka and Ferndale in Vintage film.

We decided to take a trip to the towns of Eureka California and Ferndale to see the Victorian homes. Most of the homes are renovated to there full glory. These photos are taken with the Browine Hawk Eye Flash camera. The view from the Ferndale cemetery was my favorite along with the Carson Mansion.

Alcatraz capture through vintage camera.

Alcatraz is known for being the home of some famous criminals such as Al Capone, Mickey Cohen, and Machine Gun Kelly. The prison held a little more than 200 inmates while it was in operation. It was closed in 1963 due to budget cuts and renovation cost. We took a trip to San Francisco to do some sight seeing and Alcatraz was at the top of my list. Below are photos taken with my 1940s Brownie Hawkeye Flash Camera.

Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do.

Tunnel 13 Ashland

I decided to take a trip and visit the site of the last great American train robbery. Tunnel 13 is outside the city of Ashland Oregon, and the rail system connects to Northern California. In the photos you can see some of the abandoned building that were used when the railway was still being utilized.

History of the train robbery took place on October 11, 1923. Some of the old buildings remain and are supposed to be haunted. The tunnel passes through siskiyou summit. The pervious photos I took at the abandoned train depot are connected to this rail line.

During this photo shoot I used my Kodak Six-20 camera with a vintage 1920s tripod. These photos cameout great using the old camera and film hope you enjoy.

Old Train Depot

I decided to take a trip to Northern California on a photo excursion. I used my Brownie Hawkeye camera on this trip. The photos did not come out perfect, but I'm happy with the results. I always enjoyed vintage trains. The experience of traveling cross country in a train is not a common experience as it was years gone past. One thing that drives me to use vintage cameras and equipment is to recapture a lost moment in time. By photographing these trains and bridges it set you back in time when things seemed simple or simpler times.

These pictures came out foggy due to a light leak with the film or camera. I will do some further investigation to find the issue. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.

Till next time keep smiling
